Microco[s]mic: Illustrated Essays

Each month I send out an illustrated micro essay. A small comic reflecting a bigger picture. Usually in the form of a zine.

I'm a woman in my mid-40s teaching myself how to draw. I've been revisiting my past by illustrating it, which feels like an exhilarating kind of play. I'd love to mail you my work!

For background: I'm a community college professor living in West Texas. I won the Boulevard Magazine Short Fiction Contest for Emerging Writers and was awarded the AWP Kurt Brown Prize for fiction. I've been a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow and my work has appeared in several literary magazines. I received an MFA from Lesley University and am perpetually working on a novel.
