About

Greetings from Grenoble, France

Every month, Paloma Mensajera (”messenger pigeon” in Spanish) brings a postcard to your letterbox, featuring one bird from Mexico, accompanied by a short text about why I chose it.

I grew up in Mexico surrounded by an extraordinary diversity of life. Birds were part of the sounds and sights of my childhood, without me ever really noticing them. Now, after almost two decades living in Europe, I find myself returning to Mexican nature with a different perspective: that of a naturalist and artist in love with the natural world.

Each month, I choose a bird that catches my attention: perhaps one connected to a childhood memory, a place I visited, or simply a species I wonder how I could have overlooked.

Paloma Mensajera is an invitation to join me in rediscovering the birds that were there all along, and asking: What did I see without ever stopping to look? In the process, I hope we become more attentive to the living world around us.

Wherever we are, there is life worth noticing.

Hasta Pronto,

Paloma Mensajera
